Prayer for Military in Iraq
Scripture Reading: Psalm 66:1-7, II Samuel 22:29-4, Psalm 35, Psalm 91 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. We shout with joy to You, the one true and living God. How awesome are Your works. Through the greatness of Your power, Your enemies submit themselves to You. For You, O Lord of Hosts, have established Your throne in heaven and Your kingdom rules over all. Who is God, except You, Lord. Who is a rock, except You, our God. You are our Strength and Power. Father, thank You for the United States military personnel who are serving in Iraq. Thank You for protecting their lives. Thank You for being with us during this time of war . Father, let Your kingdom come and Your will to be done through the lives of our military personnel, on earth as it is in heaven. Arise, O God, let Your enemies be scattered. It is You, O Lord, who train our military personnel’s hands for war. You have given them the shield of Your salvation. Your gentleness makes them great. We are trusting You to enlarge their paths, so that their feet will not slip. We declare that our military personnel are armed with strength for battle. We expect our enemies who rise up against us to be defeated before us and to flee in seven different ways. We confess that our United States military personnel dwell in the secret place of the Most High. We have confidence that You will deliver them from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence and You will cover them with Your feathers. Under Your wings we confess that they will take refuge. Father, we confess that Your truth will be their shield and buckler. Therefore, they will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at their side, and ten thousand at their right hand; but it will not come near them. Only with their eyes will they look and see the reward of the wicked. Because You, the Lord, are their refuge. You, the Most High, are their dwelling place. Father, open the doors of salvation, deliverance and hope for our military personnel. Open the borders of these lands so that Your Word will flow like rivers of living water. Lord, defend our military personnel and our nation. Reveal the plans of the enemy to our U.S. military personnel and allies. Let, all that is done in the dark come to the light. Plead our cause, O Lord. Father, please fight against those who fight against us. Please, put to shame and dishonor those who seek to destroy the lives of our United States military and nation. Let those who seek our hurt be brought to confusion. Let our enemies be like the chaff before the wind, and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. Let the net that our enemies have hidden for us, catch them. Lord, please protect the innocent citizens of Iraq. Shut the doors of revenge; suicide bombings; sniper attacks; and ambushes. We ask that You provide supernatural vaccinations for all military personnel against any and all biological, radiological and chemical weapons in the Name of Jesus. Give our military personnel wisdom and discernment to know where, when and how the enemy is moving against them. Comfort the families of our United States military personnel that have been deployed. We ask You to return those soldiers to their respective families. Father, forgive our nation and its military personnel for their sin. Forgive us for bringing meaningless offerings and rancid incense before You. Forgive our nation for the injustices that we have committed towards other nations. Lord, remind our nation to forgive others. Lead them not into temptation; but, deliver them from the evil one. Praise to You, O Lord, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, and the glory, the victory and the majesty. For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You. You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand is to make great and to give strength to all. Our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name. In Jesus’ name, amen.
