What is Prayer?
Prayer: Are you wondering what is prayer?
Prayer is not just communication; prayer is authority. God has given us authority through the power of prayer.
I understand why there are so many that question the art of prayer. When you look at an individual standing, sitting or bending and praying to a person you can not see, this may be confusing to a new comer in the body of Christ. First you have to understand that God is a Spirit. And if you do not understand what a spirit means, I need you to get understanding on this area first. A spirit is similar to your very own person yet you are embodied. Are you wondering how you are able to breath and have an active life without the support of machines or devises? Well my friend, you are a spirit made in the likeness of God, and you have a visible body. God is a spirit and He is ever present but you do not see a physical body. Although we do not see God, we can always feel His presence. I am sure you feel His presence even while reading this message. This feeling is called The Holy Sprit. God is I Am and He is Spirit and Truth.
If you are in agreement, we can continue with the the original message on the art of praying. We as believers are able to communicate with God through the art of prayer or speaking directly to God and not another earthy individual. You may also wonder, how does this act of praying cause things to change on earth? Well my dear friend, we are children of God and He is our Father. He loves us and He takes care of His children. You see, God is not a dead beat dad and He is very responsible. When we ask our Father for things that are His Will or He Wills for us to have them, He gives them to us. But if we do not pray and ask Him, we may never receive them.
If you want to hear what God says through the mouth of His very own son Jesus, read the first three books of the New Testament in the bible and you will find plenty of reasons to pray.
God Bless you and welcome to your new life of prayer.
